Ekphrasticon is cultural heritage explored in poetic detail. An impressive collection of poems on art from caves to modern museums. In this book, painting, sculpture and music are celebrated in free verse by the author Ekaterina Dukas, who not only provides us with a detailed study of the works, but also impels the reader on an exciting journey through the inside stories, emotions and quests.

The author contemplates a starry night, listens to a fallen angel, dances with Thracian graces to deliver a spirited experience within this smartly curated exhibition of poetic and plastic art by various authors such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Botticelli, Beethoven and many others.

Ekaterina Dukas, MA in Philology and Philosophy, has taught and published on linguistics and culture at the Universities of Sofia, Delhi and London and enjoys studying Sanskrit. She has worked in radio journalism and written on art history and medieval manuscripts. She is an associate to the volunteers'' teams of The British Museum and V&A. She is a member of the SEEMS group and "B&C" Stanza poetry group. Her previous academic research resulted in various articles and papers, documentaries on cultural heritage and a book for the British Library. Her latest poems have featured in The Ekphrastic Review, The Beckindale Poetry Journal and Poetrywivenhoe.
